Dr. Smith is a graduate of Rush Medical College, Chicago, Illinois. He completed his medical training at West Suburban Medical Center, Oak Park, Illinois as an intern and Radiology Residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Dr. Smith is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Radiology, and holds a medical licensure in Illinois.

He is a member of several professional societies such as Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, American College of Radiology, American Medical Association, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, Illinois Medical Society, Peoria Medical Society, Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound and the Society of Breast Imaging.

Dr. Smith has authored many publications in nationally recognized medical Journals in the field of Radiology, Cardiology and Medicine. In addition, he has been involved with presentations at the local and national level.
He served as the Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Methodist 1997 to 2000. Dr. Smith is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Secretary Treasurer of the Medical Staff at Methodist Medical Center and the Director of the Ultrasound Department. Since 2003 he has been actively involved in CTA including coronary CTA.
