Dr. Smouse received his medical degree from the University of
Miami School of Medicine, Miami Florida in 1990. He served his internship and
residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and completed a fellowship on
Angio/Interventional Radiology at Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville in
1995.
Dr. Smouse is certified by the American Board of Radiology,
Angio/Interventional Radiology, and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He
is a member of numerous professional committees and organizations including
American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American
Medical Society, and the Illinois Medical Association. He is also a member of
the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, in which he serves
on the Standards of Practice Committee.
Professional interests include several clinical research
projects with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He has
co-authored multiple publications in nationally recognized journals and has been
involved with presentations on a local and national level. Dr. Smouse is the
Primary Investigator on many research studies.
