Dr. Young is a graduate of the
College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines,
Iowa. He continued his medical training at the Pensacola
Education Program, Pensacola, FL as an intern and Radiology
Residency at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa,
where he also completed a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine.
Dr. Young then completed a breast imaging fellowship at the
Breast Cancer Detection Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic
Radiology and Nuclear Radiology and the American Board of
Nuclear Medicine in Nuclear Medicine, Dr. Young holds
medical licensures in Illinois and Iowa. He is a member of
many professional societies such as the American College of
Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Peoria
Medical Society, American Medical Association, the Illinois
Medical Society, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Academy of
Molecular Imaging. Dr. Young is a fellow of the American
College of Radiology.
Dr. Young’s areas of practice include Oncologic and Women’s
Imaging. Dr. Young’s areas of research include the use of
PET scanning in cancer and the role of diet in breast
cancer. Dr. Young has been a funded investigator for the
National Cancer Institute as well as research grants from
General Electric, Philips and Siemens Medical Corporations.
Dr. Young has been an invited speaker at local, national and
international meetings. He currently trains physicians from
around the world in PET Scanning in a training program at
Methodist Medical Center. He currently is the Medical
Director of the Department of Medical Imaging and Downstate
Clinical PET Center at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, IL. |
