Dr. Zagardo received his medical degree from George Washington
University, Washington, D.C., in 1985. He served his internship at Washington
Hospital Center, Washington, D.C., 1985-86 and a residency in Diagnostic
Radiology at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center, Charlottesville,
VA, 1986 to 1990 where he was Academic Chief Resident from 1989 to 1990. Dr.
Zagardo’s Fellowship was in Neuroradiology at the University of Virginia Health
Sciences Center, Charlottesville, VA, 1990 to 1991. He was recently inducted
into the G.W.U. Athletic Hall of Fame (1999).
On an educational viewpoint, Dr. Zagardo has authored several
book chapters and his work has been published in major medical journals
including Radiology, American Journal of Neuroradiology and Neurology. He has
presented his work at the local, national and international level.
Dr. Zagardo joined Central Illinois Radiological Associates in
1998 as a Neuroradiologist and is currently the director of Neuroradiology at
OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. He is a member of several professional
societies including the American Society of Neuroradiology (Senior Member),
American Medical Association, Radiological Society of North America, American
College of Radiology and the American Association of Academic Chief Residents in
Radiology.
